Cloud Technology Partners Achieves AWS Migration Competency

Attaining AWS Migration Competency Underscores CTP’s Deep Expertise Moving Enterprise Workloads to the Cloud.

BOSTON, MA – June 8, 2016 – Cloud Technology Partners (CTP), the premier cloud services and software company for enterprises moving to cloud, today announced that it has achieved the AWS Migration Competency designation from Amazon Web Services (AWS). CTP is one of a select number of AWS consulting partners to earn this competency, highlighting the value of its prescriptive approach to enterprise cloud migration.

This announcement comes less than a year after CTP was recognized as an AWS Premier Consulting Partner, the highest level within the AWS Partner Network (APN). As one of only a handful of AWS Premier Consulting Partners in North America, CTP has demonstrated the capabilities and expertise necessary to design, build, migrate and operate complex AWS environments for enterprise clients.

Based on key learnings from hundreds of cloud engagements, CTP developed the Cloud Adoption Program, which leverages software and services IP to deliver a hardened and proven approach to migration-at-scale.

“We are leading cloud adoption initiatives for enterprises that see the immense value of the cloud as a transformational technology. Our collaboration with AWS has been instrumental in ensuring that our clients are successful every step of the way,” said Rob Lancaster, Vice President of Global Alliances, Cloud Technology Partners. “Our recognition as an AWS Migration Competency partner demonstrates our commitment to moving enterprise workloads to AWS, and ensures we continue to deliver the best cloud solutions available.”

CTP recently completed a Cloud Adoption Program engagement for Avid Technology, Inc., the world’s leading provider of professional audio and video production technology. During the project, CTP migrated Avid’s enterprise and customer-facing applications from a traditional hosting company to the AWS Cloud while optimizing operations in several areas.

“We wanted to further increase our agility, accelerate adding value to the business and move even more quickly than before. We couldn’t achieve those goals with the vendor and model we had in place,” said Jonathan Thomas, CIO of Avid Technology.

Headquartered in Boston, CTP specializes in enterprise cloud adoption and cloud software development. CTP’s prescriptive approach to application migration has proven invaluable to dozens of enterprises including the most prominent financial services, telecommunications, manufacturing and technology providers in the world.

CTP’s differentiated approach to cloud adoption considers a holistic view of enterprise migration, emphasizing not only traditional migration capabilities, but also migration preparation including economic analysis, portfolio assessments, security and governance evaluations and organizational change management. Post-migration, CTP provides a portfolio of services that enable customers to effectively manage their AWS environments as they continue to scale.

“Many clients understand the benefits of migrating to the cloud, but making it happen is another story. By combining our team of cloud experts with the power and flexibility of the AWS infrastructure, the Cloud Adoption Program represents a unique opportunity for businesses to make a smooth and efficient transition to AWS,” said Robert Christiansen, Vice President and Cloud Adoption Practice Lead, Cloud Technology Partners.
